Keeping Each Other Encouraged

Long before KEOE became a business, encouragement was simply how I showed up in people's lives; prayer, advice, or conversations about the deeper things happening in their lives. I often found myself listening, encouraging, mentoring, and helping them look at what they were experiencing from a different perspective. When I eventually reflected on the role, I seemed to naturally hold in the lives of others, one word continued to surface: Encourager.

To encourage means to give someone courage, confidence, hope, or support.

That definition captures the heart of what I had already been doing, helping people find the courage to look again, think differently, keep moving, and believe there could be something beyond what they were currently experiencing. And that became K.E.O.E. Keeping Each Other Encouraged.

Then Encouragement Became Personal

My understanding of encouragement changed when my own healing journey began. After experiencing a traumatic event, I began uncovering wounds and experiences from my past that I hadn't fully recognized or understood. Healing required me to look inward, ask difficult questions, reflect on what I had experienced, and begin understanding how those experiences had shaped me. As I began sharing parts of my journey, something unexpected happened.

I discovered I wasn't alone.

Other people had stories too.

Other people carried wounds they hadn't talked about.

Other people were trying to understand who they were after difficult experiences.

And what began as my personal journey toward healing started revealing something much bigger.

Sometimes people need more than someone telling them, “Everything is going to be okay.”

Sometimes encouragement means creating a safe enough space for someone to stop, look inward, and begin discovering what healing might mean for them.

That realization changed KEOE.

Where Creativity Entered the Story

Creativity has always been part of how I think and communicate.

I naturally see ideas through images, words, objects, metaphors, and experiences. Over time, I discovered that I could use that creativity to help other people see their own lives differently.

A broken crayon could start a conversation about whether brokenness removes purpose.

A canvas could invite someone to imagine what peace looks like.

A vision book could help someone recognize gifts, dreams, and possibilities they had stopped seeing.

A single word could become a spark that causes someone to reflect on an entire season of life.

That's when I began to understand that creative activity itself wasn't the most important part.

The discovery happened while someone was creating was.

Creativity gave people another way into conversations that weren't always easy to have. And when people felt safe enough to create, talk, listen, and reflect, something beautiful began happening:

They started making discoveries of their own.

Encouragement creates the invitation.

It says, You can look at this again. There may be another way to see it.

Creativity creates space.

It gives people something tangible through which they can explore thoughts, experiences, emotions, identity, and possibilities.

Reflection creates awareness.

It allows people to recognize patterns, strengths, wounds, dreams, and parts of themselves they may have overlooked.

Healing creates movement.

Not by erasing what happened, but by helping us understand what we want to do with what we've experienced.

Purpose gives us somewhere to go.

As people begin seeing themselves differently, they can also begin asking:

Who am I now?

What have I discovered about myself?

What do I carry forward?

What can I create from here?

That is why KEOE's message today is: Where Healing Meets Purpose.

From Encouragement to Healing to Purpose

That progression became the foundation of KEOE.

Why Transformation Matters

I don't want someone to attend a KEOE workshop, enjoy an activity, and leave everything they discovered sitting on the table.

Transformation matters because what happens in the room should be able to travel home with you.

The tools, reflections, conversations, and creative experiences offered in each workshop are designed to become something participants can return to and apply beyond that moment.

A participant may leave with a canvas, journal, vision book, creative piece, new question, different perspective, or simply a realization they didn't have when they walked through the door.

That becomes the beginning. Because the goal isn't for KEOE to tell people who they should become.

The goal is to create an environment where people feel safe enough to discover what may already be within them.

My own life experiences taught me that healing can uncover things we didn't know were there.

My creativity taught me that sometimes we need a different way to see what has always been in front of us.

And encouragement taught me that sometimes another person simply needs someone willing to stand beside them long enough to remind them:

You still have a voice.

You still have value.

You still have something to contribute.

And your story isn't finished.

That is the heart behind KEOE.
